Michigan State forward Adreian Payne has emerged into a key contributor for the Spartans. Not only is he a gifted basketball player, but he’s also a tremendous role model. He has struggled with a lung condition, the loss of his grandmother and a learning disability, yet he’s overcome all of these obstacles thanks to a little inspiration from a 7-year old girl with cancer. In case you missed the most recent episode of The Journey on The Big Ten Network, the last few minutes covered a segment on Payne. This heart-wrenching story details his friendship with a cancer patient named Lacey and how she is Adreian’s motivation on the court.
