Rhode Island took to the court for the first time in 2013 on Friday evening, playing host to their neighbors from Providence, Brown University. The first 20 minutes of the contest saw both teams struggle offensively.
Following the intermission, Xavier Munford was able to help Rhode Island find its offense. The New Jersey native had 14 of his team high 18 points as Rhode Island pulled away and won comfortably 59-47.
After the game, Xavier chatted about the defensive play of his team in the first half, his successful second half, and how the non-conference portion of the schedule has helped Rhode Island prepare for Atlantic 10 play.
