Sometimes the better teams and the better players are just better. That was the case tonight as Anthony Davis and Kentucky were able to knock off Louisville 69-62. Kentucky moves on to the National Title game for the first time since winning it in 1998. For Davis, he played like the Wooden Award winner he is, scoring 18 points and grabbing 14 boards to go along with his 5 blocks. Davis received some nice help off the bench with senior guard Darius Miller scoring 13 points on 4 of 7 shooting from the floor. Louisville made one heck of a run as a #4 seed in the tournament, knocking off #1 seed Michigan State and falling one game short of the National Championship game. They needed to play a perfect game to beat Kentucky and they fell a little short. It ended up coming down to shooting percentage with Kentucky outshooting Louisville 57.1% to 34.8%. Kentucky was helped by some great play around the rim by Davis and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist...

Siva taking reins as Louisville leader

Peyton Siva grew up in Seattle, Wash., more than 2,000 miles from the crazed basketball passion that occupies the state of Kentucky. Until he played in the 2009 Derby Festival Classic All-Star game in Louisville's Freedom Hall, he had no clue regarding the extreme commitment that separates Louisville fans from Kentucky fans. "Just seeing half (the crowd) red and half of...

Kentucky's Miller to break mark at NCAA title game

Darius Miller gets plenty of grief about being an old man as the only senior who plays significant minutes for Kentucky. He's about to become the most experienced Wildcat ever, too. When Miller plays in the national championship game on Monday night against Kansas, it will be his 152nd appearance for Kentucky, breaking the school mark set by Wayne Turner in 1999. ''...

Final Four thread: Kentucky Wildcats vs Louisville Cardinals

This may not be the most competitive game of the night, and there’s little hope of the action matching the hype, but you wouldn’t know it from where I’m sitting in Lexington. The state has been drunk since about 5:30 on Thursday, as Lexington formally declared a four day weekend in anticipation for not only tonight’s matchup, but for Monday’s championship game as well....

Prediction Kentucky and Louisville

Kentucky is playing lights out right now they are clearly the best team in the country. I don’t know if some of the bad NBA teams could beat them right now. Michael Kidd Gilchrist is still the best freshman in the country behind Davis. No one can stop him from driving to the basket he just has too much strength. After struggling the 1st weekend Gilchrist was unstoppable...
