Syracuse and Louisville are locked in a tight battle late at the Carrier Dome – things are tense. Rick Pitino, after an offensive foul call on the Cardinals, got a little animated. We can’t tell if he’s yelling at Russ Smith or Gorgui Dieng, but either way, he’s not happy. Something about getting out of bed after a long slumber, maybe.

The Louisville Cardinals have made just 158 three point field goals this season. 279 division one college basketball teams have made more three’s than Louisville this year. Had you told me ten years ago that one of Rick Pitino’s teams would be one of the worst teams in the country in the three point department, I’d think you were insane.
The man who had previously used the...
Rick Pitino really wanted his Louisville Cardinals players to 'wake the f*** up' against Syracuse on Saturday.

It wasn’t pretty for the entire 40-minutes on Saturday afternoon, but all in all, it’s hard not to be impressed with Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals. For the first time in conference play, Louisville went on the road and won a close game against a good team.
Louisville had been playing well in the last few weeks and showing some improvement offensively. However, the...
It isn’t quite Selfie Sunday yet, but Peyton Siva and the Louisville Cardinals just couldn’t wait. After a big win on the road defeating No. 12 Syracuse, the Louisville team decided to take a group selfie to put on Instagram:

Seems like it was all in good fun to me, but some may view this as little bit of gloating. But Siva himself said he was...
If the tide was going to turn in favor of Syracuse, it was going to happen when James Southerland hit the three-point shot at the 9:21 mark.
He was getting warmed up, making four three-pointers in the second half, or so it seemed.
The 31,173 fans at the Carrier Dome felt it, University of Louisville fans had a sinking sensation with Syracuse claiming a 38-36 lead. Twenty seconds...
Louisville hasn’t won a game at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse since 2010. Let’s go back in time and relive the feeling that we’ll all experience tomorrow. Rakeem Buckles and Samardo Samuels throwing down dunk. Mike Marra and Jared Swopshire raining three’s. Why did I forget that all of this had ever occurred?
You can’t convince me that Mike Marra wouldn’t have made an...
Junior guard Luke Hancock had the biggest moment of his career at the University of Louisville on Saturday, shooting the Cardinals past host Syracuse. Hancock hit four three-pointers, including the go-ahead bucket in the final minute, and made several key defensive plays in U of L’s 58-53 win in the Carrier Dome.
Russ Smith spoke to the media yesterday afternoon previewing Louisville’s game against Syracuse. The always entertaining Russ Smith didn’t disappoint at yesterday’s presser. Video courtesy of Mark Blankenbaker of CardsandCats.com.

Louisville's offense has been formidable for most of the season, leading the Big East in scoring. It's been the Cardinals' defense, though that has keyed their current surge.
They'll look for a sixth consecutive win Monday night and Rick Pitino's 300th with Louisville as they host Cincinnati, which has struggled severely on offense in recent weeks.
About a month and a half ago, Louisville didn’t close out a game against Syracuse in the Yum Center…this time was a different story. The Cards went into the Carrier Dome and closed out a game in the last minute behind multiple big plays by Luke Hancock.
I have always been the biggest critic of Luke Hancock but today I found myself hoping that he was on the floor over Wayne...
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Junior Luke Hancock hit four three-pointers, including one to put Louisville in front for good, as the Cardinals went on the road and downed Syracuse 58-53 in a Big East game.
