Louisville's Kevin Ware suffered a horrendous injury during his team's Elite Eight victory over the Duke Blue Devils on Sunday. With just over six minutes to play until halftime, the top seeded Cardinals found themselves clinging to a one-point lead on defense. That's when Ware attempted to block a three-point shot attempt, but on the way down, he landed awkwardly on his ankle, which resulted in one of the most gruesome basketball injuries anyone has ever seen.As you can see, the crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium went deathly silent, while players and coaches from both sides looked on in disbelief and agony. A few of Ware's teammates and head coach Rick Pitino even shed tears of sympathy for their fallen brother.Despite the excruciating pain, Ware reportedly told his teammates to "win the game" and kept reassuring them that he would be okay. He was taken to a local hospital for further medical treatment. The emotional Cardinals took Ware's advice and proceeded to dismantle No. 2 seed Duke en route to a second straight Final Four appearance.
