VCU spent most of the second half exerting its trademark Havoc defense on Stephen F. Austin after falling behind the Lumberjacks early, but the play of the game goes to the 12-seed. With under four seconds remaining in regulation and the Lumberjacks down 67-63, Desmond Haymon drilled a three from the corner and drew a foul on VCU’s JeQuan Lewis. Haymon converted on the four point play at the line, and VCU missed a half-court heave at the buzzer.

The two teams traded baskets down the stretch, but a few big defensive stops for the ‘Jacks propelled them to a 77-75 overtime victory. SFA will play the winner of UCLA and Tulsa on Sunday.
