Wisconsin men’s basketball has developed a reputation for recruiting the state of Minnesota with incredible success. In head coach Greg Gard’s tenure, the Badgers have nabbed standout players, including Brad Davison, Nate Ruevers, and Tyler Wahl. From the 2023 class, Wisconsin has the second-ranked prospect from Minnesota, Nolan Winter, suiting up as a Badger this fall.

Now, the Wisconsin Badgers have a chance to take the three top prospects from Minnesota in the 2024 class.

Wisconsin Men’s Basketball Recruiting: Jackson McAndrew Names Top 4 Schools

Jackson McAndrew, a sharp-shooting wing, narrowed his recruitment down to four schools. His finalists are Wisconsin, Xavier, Creighton, and Notre Dame. He also told On3 that he “plans to make a decision within the next two weeks.”

Gard and his staff have been targeting the six-foot-eigh-inch standout from Wayzata High School in Minneapolis for as long as anyone. After the Badgers offered a scholarship in September 2022, McAndrew visited Madison in October. He has taken official visits to each of his four finalists.

After an impressive performance at Nike’s grassroots circuit championship, Peach Jam, insiders speculated that a blue blood program like Duke could become a major player in McAndrew’s recruitment. Today’s announcement puts that speculation to rest.

Wisconsin Men’s Basketball Recruiting 2024 Class

McAndrew is a top-100 player in his class, according to 247Sports, and his stock has only risen since his initial ranking. He is a three-star prospect and ranks 166th nationally in his class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

McAndrew is AAU teammates with two Wisconsin commits: Daniel Freitag and Jack Robison. Freitag and Robison are top-three players in the 2024 class from Minnesota. The missing third? Jackson McAndrew.

Wisconsin men’s basketball currently has the 14th-ranked 2024 recruiting class. The Badgers rank fourth in the Big Ten, trailing Rutgers (which may end up with the two-highest-ranked prospects in the class), Purdue, and Michigan State.
