Life's changed for Barlow, Butler

Still under both the proverbial radar and preferred height for those playing at the highest level of college basketball, Alex Barlow will admit that his life has changed over the last month only because it has. When the 5'11 Barlow hit an overtime runner to beat then-No. 1 Indiana on Dec. 15, he was a walk-on hero, the latest in a long line of them in Butler's giant-killing...

UNLIKELY HERO

Walk-on helps Butler beat Indiana

Check out the video. Butler sophomore walk-on Alex Barlow hit the game-winning shot as the unranked Bulldogs handed Indiana its first loss of the season, 88-86 in overtime. It was a floater. The ball bounced off the backboard and the rim four times before going in. The shot was amazing. Even more amazing — Barlow had averaged just .08 points per game before the big one against the Hoosiers.
