Huskies Fail To Punch Their Ticket

The Washington Huskies stubbed their toe at the end of the season, and in doing so have become infamous. The Huskies (21-10, 14-4) became the first 'power conference' team to win their regular season outright, yet not win a bid to the NCAA Tournament. The missed bid means senior forward Darnell Gant misses out on being the first Washington player to ever play in four straight Big Dances.

Huskies Clinch Share Of Pac-12 Title With Victory Over Trojans

“You know, I’ve never been good at sharing”. Darnell Gant couldn’t have said it better following his best game this season in his final homecoming game against USC. Gant’s 14 points and 9 rebounds helped the Dawgs clinch at least a share of the Pac-12 regular season title. A lot is on the line on Saturday. Not only can UW win the conference outright, Washington can also...

Senior Gallery - Darnell Gant

SEATTLE - Darnell Gant has had a pretty remarkable career for a 6-foot-8 forward from Crenshaw High in Los Angeles. At Washington, he has a chance to be the first Husky ever to play in four-straight NCAA Tournaments. Here's a pictorial of the senior as he plays his final regular-season home game Saturday at Alaska Airlines Arena against Arizona.

Tale of two halves as UW beats ASU

SEATTLE - As sloppy as it may have been, Washington went on a 17-4 run to end the first half and never looked back as they beat Arizona State 77-69 Thursday at Alaska Airlines Arena. Playing in his penultimate home game, Darnell Gant scored nine of the points during the run, which included a thunderous put-back dunk.

Gant's home finale at Washington finally arrives

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By TIM BOOTH AP Sports Writer When he decided Washington was the place to play his college ball, Darnell Gant believed it was a one- or two-year springboard to a future in the NBA. Five years later, Gant gets grief for being the old man of the program. ''To me, he's always been the grandfather of the team,'' guard C.J. Wilcox joked. Gant...

The many roles of Darnell Gant

Darnell Gant's role on the Washington Huskies basketball team is to come off of the bench and be active. Sometimes. He's almost like a seventh starter for head coach Lorenzo Romar. If Gant was called on to fill a starter's role, he could, already having made 70 career starts, including 14 this season. Off of the court, he has the capacity to take on other roles...

Huskies Can't Put Bears Down

SEATTLE - In a matchup of Pac-12 heavyweights, the game came down to one shot. With a couple seconds left, a Darnell Gant three-point shot failed to go in, and the California Golden Bears escaped Alaska Airlines Arena with a hard-fought 69-66 win over Washington to bump their league lead over the Huskies by another game.

Washington's NYC trip more than just hoops

By the time Darnell Gant and his Washington teammates get to New York City, the background and scouting report they will have on Memphis will be among their most detailed for the entire season. That would be the Tony Award-winning musical ''Memphis'' playing at the Shubert Theatre, not Memphis the Top 25 basketball program. ''I'm looking forward to playing...
