D.J. SHELTON RUMORS & GOSSIP

NBA Draft Blog Interview with D.J. Shelton

Sometimes it is hard to think of a player who is 6’10, 250 pounds flying under the radar of professional teams, but in many ways, D.J. Shelton out of Washington State has. Apology comes too late as Bone's team crushed

SEATTLE – In the aftermath of a 72-49 drubbing to cross-state rival Washington, Ken Bone stood in a dim tunnel inside Hec Edmundson Pavilion and apologized. He shouldn’t have told D.J. Shelton to keep shooting 3-pointers, he said. After all, the senior forward missed all 10 of his attempts and went 3 of 14 from the field during a Friday game in which Washington State never led.

What a difference the ensuing 3 minutes and 8 seconds made.

Experience, confidence driving WSU’s Shelton

IT MIGHT HAVE felt as if the double-double that Washington State senior D.J. Shelton produced during Saturday’s 72-67 win against Washington came out of nowhere. But coach Ken Bone said during his Tuesday teleconference that Shelton’s statistical line, which included 20 points and 18 rebounds, was a byproduct of patience after watching his 6-foot-10 forward struggle earlier in the season.
