Smith returns to form in Bruins' win over Utah
LOS ANGELES -- UCLA center Joshua Smith was in a funk after the Bruins returned from Oregon last weekend.
While many griped about his conditioning, or lack thereof, his battle was much worse. Smith battled himself.
Similar to how he responded after UCLA was swept in the Bay Area to start the Pac-12 portion of their season, Smith went to work. He practiced and practiced hard.
When...

Mentality holding back UCLA's Smith
As UCLA center Joshua Smith prepared to leave Oregon's Matthew Knight Arena last Saturday, his family members told him that he "didn't look happy" on the court.
As he sat in a chair and addressed the media inside UCLA's J.D. Morgan Center Press Room on Wednesday there was still a sense of him being glum.
Smith admits he hates losing. The last taste of game...

UCLA's Smith out of shape to start new season
Before the start of the season Joshua Smith was thought of to be an immoveable force in the middle of the UCLA paint.
Smith hasn't been able to have such success through UCLA's first six games, with a lot of his moves being made towards the UCLA bench. He can't get out of his own way.
Through six games, he has committed 21 fouls. He's had at least three fouls in...

Former Buffalo Smith has no regrets in transfer to UCLA
As far as generosity goes, UCLA wide receiver Joshua Smith is as good as it gets.
Yes, he left the University of Colorado to better himself, but he says he left the program better than he found it.
"At least I didn't leave them empty handed," Smith said.
He's still partly responsible for the Buffs success in the passing game. Smith helped recruit Colorado&...

UCLA basketball off to disappointing start
I'm guessing UCLA center Joshua Smith learned his lesson and won't be tweeting out that the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders are a bunch of "bums," as he described the LMU squad after the Bruins lost to the Lions by double digits.
The Raiders walked away from the Los Angeles Sports Arena with a 20-point victory over a UCLA squad that was the preseason pick...
