Freshman Kasey Hill had an eye opening experience Saturday night, one he would like to forget, but will be ingrained in his psyche for a while. The Florida Gators ended their run in the NCAA Tournament with their first Final Four appearance since the 2006-2007 season and Hill has been a big part of that and the 30 game winning streak the Gators ended on Saturday in losing to UConn… a tough loss.

Six players scored at least eight points in No. 16 Florida’s 67-53 win over Southern on Monday, but there was concern as the Gators left the floor of the O’Connell Center. Freshman point guard Kasey Hill, a former five-star recruit, suffered a high ankle sprain when he rolled his left ankle on a layup early in the second half and is expected to miss at least one month.

With his normal shy grin, freshman point guard Kasey Hill walked off the court under the arm of assistant coach John Pelphrey. Multiple players came up to congratulate him, but Hill didn’t break stride to celebrate.
