Future bright for Charlotte on shoulders of Henry, Clayton
In what can only be described as a roller coaster type year, the 2012-2013 season came to an end for the Charlotte 49ers – for now, anyway; the Niners will still await a call to either the NIT or CBI – following a 72-55 loss to the Saint Louis Billikens Friday afternoon in the second round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
While Charlotte fans are sad to see a once promising season...
Charlotte 52, Saint Joseph's 40
Pierria Henry and Willie Clayton scored 12 points each, and Charlotte made an 11-2 run late in the second half to beat St. Joseph's 52-40 Saturday night in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Victor Nickerson knocked down two go-ahead free throws with 1:16 left and Charlotte held on to beat Massachusetts 66-65 on Saturday.
A free throw by Willie Clayton pushed the 49ers lead to three points with 33 seconds remaining. Massachusetts cut the deficit to one point with 15 seconds left on Chaz Williams' layup.

Charlotte hands Xavier first A-10 loss
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Willie Clayton scored 14 points as Charlotte held off Xavier 63-57 Wednesday night, snapping the Musketeers' winning streak and handing them their first Atlantic 10 Conference defeat.
The 49ers (16-3, 4-1), who lost 81-61 at league foe Richmond on Saturday, have won five of their past six games.
