Tavon Austin played wide receiver all four years for the West Virginia Mountaineers. He is 5'9" and 176 pounds.Austin saw his targets, receptions and yards increase dramatically in his four years at West Virginia. He finished his senior year with 1289 yards and 12 touchdowns, as well as, a touchdwon on the ground and two more on kick returns. Austin  was named first team All-American and set the Orange Bowl record with four TD receptions. He was also named the 2012 All-Purpose Performer of the Year.Strengths: Austin is fast, as evidenced by his 4.34 40 time at the NFL Combine, and his ability to get separation is a rare skill for such a small receiver. He is a true hybrid and should find usefulness as a runner, receiver, and return man.Weakness: The biggest concern will be his size and durability as he will face bigger, stronger, faster defenders in the NFL.Projected Pick: Due to his rising stock, I can't imagine the Minnesota Vikings passing on him with one of their two first round picks as a replacement for the departed Percy Harvin. If he falls further than that 25th slot, I can see him being snatched up by Jacksonville with the first pick of the second round, or the Chiefs with the second pick.NFL Comparison: I gotta' go with Wes Welker (remember his 99 yard TD against Miami?) or a slightly shorter and smaller Percy Harvin.Tavon Austin will be a good fit wherever he goes, although the better the arm throwing to him, the better his receiving stats will be. His career could easily mirror the aforementioned Welker.
