It’s never to early. The draft order is utterly random, with consideration to how things might play out given what we know in today’s NFL. Team needs were sometimes, but not always considered, as this is highly subject to change. Let’s get to the 5 Ws of the players making the transition from Saturdays to Sundays.
1. Cleveland Browns, Matt Barkley, QB, USC
You gotta feel for the Brownies. Like Michael Stipe famously sang “everybody hurts, sometimes.” Colt McCoy might not live through the season and even if he does, he’s not good. They’ll get their big time running back this draft in Trent Richardson, and their franchise QB in Barkley, the overwhelming favorite to be #1 just like Andrew Luck was a year ago at this time. Barkley is the absolute prototypical size for a NFL QB (6-2, 220).
