We get 4 full days of coverage of the NFL Scouting Combine this weekend.  Today is the offensive linemen and tight ends.  Also the special teams but they will not get as much coverage.  The offensive linemen are a group that the Steelers will be watching carefully.  It is a decent group of tackles with a very deep group of interior offensive linemen.  Here are 5 guys to watch.

Players to Watch:

  1. Cordy Glenn- OG/OT, Georgia- Glenn was put at left tackle this season.  He also played there at the Senior Bowl as well.  I still see Glenn as a big time guard more then a tackle.  He could be a good tackle but he will dominate inside.  Glenn came in to the combine with the second longest arms of the group.  He can engulf you with those limbs.  He also did 31 reps with those long arms.  He is having a good time so far.  Lets see how he does in position drills today.
  2. Mike Adams- OT, Ohio State- Adams is the only true left tackle that could fall to the Steelers.  His stock took a bit of a hit yesterday as he only benched 225 pounds 19 times.  His strength will be questioned.  As big as he is he should have been able to put it up at least 25 times.  Adams won the Senior Bowl as he beat up Courtney Upshaw and Quinton Coples during the game.  Adams will need to be good in the position drills today.
  3. Peter Konz- C, Wisconsin- Konz also struggled on the bench press.  He only put up 18 reps.  Konz is looked at as a late first round pick.  As has been pegged by some as the Steelers pick to play guard.  I am not a big Wisconsin offensive linemen fan.  They are great against the run but never seem to live up to their hype.  Always solid but not always stellar.
  4. Brandon Washington- Washington is looking to be around a 2nd to 3rd round guy.  If the Steelers were to take him in the second round I would be ecstatic.  Washington will need to show good movement in the short speed drills.  He will need to show that he can pull well as he looks to be a guard at the next level.
  5. Dwayne Allen- TE, Clemson- Allen is the most complete tight end of the bunch.  Stanford’s Coby Fleener is more of a pass catching threat.  Allen did 27 reps on the bench.  That will go a ways with teams looking for a guy who can block as well as catch the ball.  Allen should go in the late first round.  He should not make it past the Giants.
