Padres Ink Gonzalez to Long-Term Deal

I thought the Padres made out really well when they got Gonzalez and Chris Young from the Rangers a year ago, but this caps it off. Signing a player to a deal well before he becomes a free agent tells you exactly how an organization feels about that guy. Gonzalez plays great defense and is already showing the power that the Rangers thought wouldn't come for years. Good move by Pads.

Waiver Wired: Chris B. Young

In case you have been sleeping in a fox hole the past few weeks, it's time for me to wake you up and tell you to get Chris Young on your fantasy squad. I don't care if you already have a backup of OFers, Chris Young is for real, and I'm not the only one squawking it:

Stock Watch: The Pitching of C.C. Sabathia

Pitching drives you crazy. The scintillating triumvirate of early season performance that is C.C. Sabathia, Erik Bedard, and Chris Young SP comprises half of my Gospel Tent Jamboree pitching staff, triangulating me into a state of near self-defenestration. Through three starts, Sabathia boasts an An...

Chris Young and Derrek Lee pay homage to classic NBA slugfests

The Cubs' Derrek Lee and the Padres' Chris Young came to blows this weekend Three Stooges style, seemingly paying tribute to their buddies in the NBA whose season came to a deathly end late last week. Take a look at the play-by-play with commentary...

The Diamondbacks Outfield Situation. Also, My Return.

...And we're back. With the return of the Dbacks set to begin tomorrow in their first Spring Training game, this blog returns to regular posting. More than anything the timing is coincidental at best. To be honest i was a bit burnt out from a variety of reasons, and as such my writing suffered. And i hate when what i write is total crap. So i stepped away for a while. But recent...

Padres And Young Agree To Four-Year Contract

The San Diego Padres and Chris Young agreed on a four-year, $14.5 million contract extension on Tuesday. Our thoughts.

Chris Young, Dbacks Agree on $28 Million Deal

The News: Chris Young and the Arizona Diamondbacks came to terms on a deal that will keep him patrolling centerfield for the Dbacks through the year 2013 with a team option for 2014. It is believed to be worth $28 Million dollars and is similar to the six year, $31 million deal the Rockies stud short stop Troy Tulowitzki received earlier this year. The Take:

Chris Young Deserves To Be An All-Star

Now I know I'm a total homer Padre fan, but I was looking at the list for the "Fan Vote" for the final slot on the N.L. All-Star team today and I don't understand why this is even a competition. At last count, San Diego's Chris Young was barely holding the lead over the Cubs' Carlos Zambrano and I don't get why it's close. Without the obvious fan...

San Diego battery had no luck last night

Albert Pujols had a bad 10 minutes last night. But not as bad as the Padres pitcher and catcher combination of Chris Young and Josh Bard. Pujols hit a ball that hit Young in between the eyes, causing a large gash and heavy bleeding. Two plays later, a Troy Glaus single caused a play at the plate in which Albert slid right into Bard's ankle bending it in a direction it naturally...

D-Backs Fan Fest hits a Home Run

Having spent close to 6 hours at Chase Field this past Saturday, I couldn’t be more proud being a D-Back A tour of the home team clubhouse started things off. Nice to actually see the lockers of Brandon Webb, Dan Haren and Chris Young. While inside the clubhouse, MLB Network was reporting ...

GameDay #161 at Padres

Pirates (66-94) at Padres (62-98)10:05--Petco Park, San DiegoJimmy Barthmaier (0-1, 15.19) vs. Chris Young (6-6, 4.11)[Preview]---------If it's possible, this game will be even less paid attention to than last night's. College football is running it's course (Pitt came back to beat Syracuse, the worst team in the country!) and there are a few really important baseball...
