Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Wednesday that Marquis Colston signed a 3-year extension. He stated that the 3 year term was chosen to help prevent possible holdouts in the future. Terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed, but should be shortly. This should be a huge weight off of the shoulders of the Saints organization. It also assures that they get Colston in by the start of camp. This should also allow Mickey Loomis ample time to finish talks with the Saints 1st round pick Sedrick Ellis.

Tight end is a position that Bruce Allen, and Jon Gruden felt they needed some upgrades at this offseason. Gone is mainstay Anthony Becht, and he has been replaced by two free agent acquisitions. The TE spot is a position that Gruden loves to utilize in his offense, with lots of multiple tight end sets in both throwing and running downs.

St. Jeremy will meet with the media for the first time Thursday after the Saints' first practice at Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss. I believe that he will find the media down South little more subdued than in New York.
