This punk@$$ has been in trouble before and should never play again. HE WENT AFTER THE FANS!! Do any of you actually pay attention to what happens?

had it just been the punch, yeah i would say reinstate him, but not only did he go after the fans, he also went after one of his OWN teammates so no he should not be reinstated just of of the fact that he did that as well. the punch was one thing but going after your fellow teammate.....NO he would no longer be on my team.

it appears that way......if the coach cares about his kids they way he cares about his own -- that could be that driving this decision.

Sounds like opinions vary on this subject. As for me, after listening to the entire press conference today here are my thoughts.

    - Chip Kelly made it clear that as of right now LB is NOT back to playing in games.

    - Kelly also made it clear that this was a life lesson and not just about football. I know many are going to question that, but he sounded sincere and I am leaning toward believing him on this.

    - If LB is to play again he has several "ladders" he needs to climb. Those include benchmarks for academics, behavioral as well as football.

    - I like the fact that Chip Kelly doesn't seem to worry about what people think in terms of him going back on his word. He did make it clear that LB would not suit up for another game this season. However, Kelly says after seeing the progress Blount has made on his own and after consulting with those such as Tony Dungy that he feels giving Blount the opportunity to earn the chance to play again and move forward is the right thing to do.

    - I look at the entire situation this way: The Ducks are 3-1 and just whooped then-ranked No. 6 Cal 42-3. They are winning without LB. If he is to return it wouldn't be until Nov. 7th according to Kelly. That leaves four games (Stanford, 'Zona, Arizona St., and OSU). After the bulk of the conference games are done. The toughest of those remaining games seems to be Stanford at this point. So, to me, it isn't about bringing Blount back to win games. If that's the case why not bring him back the week before to play USC - or even earlier.

Anyhow, those are my initial thoughts after watching and listening to the ENTIRE press conference.
