Theres a quarterback battle going on at Georgia Tech, but its not for the top spot on the depth chart, at least not yet. Synjyn Davis, a 6-foot-1, 212-pound redshirt sophomore who saw some a decent amount of time last season, is fighting to retain the backup spot. He played in six games, completing 8 of 12 pass attempts for 198 yards and no scores or interceptions. He ran the ball 48 times for 237 yards and four touchdowns. Davis wasnt highly recruited coming out of high school, but he was a fit for Paul Johnsons triple option offense. Hes a quick learner and strong. Redshirt freshman Vad Lee, on the other hand, was the North Carolina Player of the year in 2010 after leading his school to a state championship. At 6-1, 2-6, Lee is considered an excellent athlete and leader and is giving Davis a run for second on the depth chart. Lee was captain of his high school team for three years.
