Everybody turned to Andrew Luck after he threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter at Southern California, wondering how Stanford would react when finally faced with real pressure. Luck provided an emphatic answer. The moment might not only come to symbolize Luck's Heisman Trophy run but also Stanford's season. The calming influence of the nation's premier college quarterback lifted the program to a 56-48 triple-overtime victory for the ages and gave teammates reason to believe any obstacle could be overcome. While USC's speed exposed flaws in pass protection and on defense, the No. 4 Cardinal (8-0, 6-0 Pac-12) cleared their biggest road test and will need to regroup quickly heading to Oregon State (2-6, 2-3) on Saturday.

Stanford-Oregon St. Preview

As much as Andrew Luck has accomplished in two-plus seasons with Stanford, he has yet to win in the state of Oregon. This weekend could represent his last chance to do so. Luck and the fourth-ranked Cardinal put the nation's longest winning streak on the line Saturday when they visit lowly Oregon State. The Heisman Trophy runner-up a year ago, Luck bolstered his credentials...

Monkey wrench for 'Suck for Luck' crowd

There has been plenty of discussion the past few weeks -- much of it summarily dismissed in the locker rooms of the franchises most often mentioned -- about whether a team might purposely sabotage its season to gain the first overall selection in the 2012 NFL draft, and thus, the rights to Stanford quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidate Andrew Luck. For the most part, players...

8 Things We Learned This Weekend (Including a Doppelgänger For Andrew Luck That Doesn’t Suck)

Before this week is lost to LSU-Alabama hype, let’s pause to remember the weekend that was and reflect on some of the things that we learned: 1. If you play a historically great 7-game series, they will come. Through 5 games this year’s World Series was on pace to be the lowest rated Fall Classic ever. Last Monday’s Game 5 did a historically dismal 8.8 rating. (The low rating...

Given that it was Halloween last night, I dressed up as my hero. No I wasn't Obama, no I wasn't Bono, no I wasn't Tim Tebow. While all are world renowned heroes I decided to be my personal hero Andrew Luck! If you had the pleasure of tuning into Stanford vs. USC Saturday night he might be your hero too. Once again on a national stage against a...

NFL scouts and football folks frequently troll the sidelines of college football practices. Associated Press reporter Antonio Gonzalez reported via Twitter Wednesday afternoon that Elway is watching Stanford...
