Alabama Football to add elite offensive tackle via the Transfer Portal ahead of 2024 college football season
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Kalen DeBoer has done an incredible job of roster management amidst the Nick Saban retirement. Yes, there were some losses when the news broke and shortly thereafter, but overall DeBoer has done a wondrous job keeping and putting together the Alabama Crimson Tide roster. As the spring transfer portal window opens it looks like he's set to pull off another solid (albeit somewhat predictable) win.

According to Pete Nakos of On3 Sports (and others), former five star offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor has officially entered the Transfer Portal with a "do not contact" tag. For those unfamiliar, that is typically only used when a player knows their landing spot already.

Kadyn Proctor had made it known that he would likely be heading back to Tuscaloosa after a brief stay with the Iowa football program, where he is originally from. However, in the world of NIL and unlimited transfers, anything can happen, especially with a five star talent like Proctor. Another team could have swooped in with a massive offer and stolen him away from Alabama before he even got back to campus. It doesn't look like DeBoer and his coaching staff are going to let that happen.

Proctor likely immediately slots back in as the every-snap starting left tackle for Alabama this fall, giving the Crimson Tide one of the best offensive lines in the country this season. Alabama has also already brought in Parker Brailsford at center from Washington and four other offensive line transfers and recruits this cycle too. If DeBoer continues to win like this bringin in (and back) top talent, Alabama football may continue their reign at or near the top of the sport.
