Alabama QB Jalen Milroe is one of several quarterbacks on 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl watch

The money year for Jalen Milroe starts in the upcoming college football season this fall.

He returns as a redshirt junior quarterback for the University of Alabama after a successful campaign in 2023 as a first-year starter in the Southeastern Conference. Milroe, a native of Katy, Texas, has every opportunity to capture individual accolades, guide the Crimson Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship, and become a first-round NFL Draft pick.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder has sharpened his approached from last season; however, a new offensive coaching staff — headlined by head coach Kalen DeBoer — looks to transform Milroe into a powerhouse. Jim Nagy, the executive director for the Reese’s Senior Bowl, has his eyes on the Tide’s signal-caller. He has Milroe as one of several quarterbacks in the mix for an invitation to compete in Mobile (Ala.) in 2025 for the event. Mac Jones, a former Alabama standout, competed in the 2021 Senior Bowl and was selected at No. 15 overall in the NFL Draft. Milroe watched three of his former Tide teammates — Justin Eboigbe, Chris Braswell, and Will Reichard — compete in the recent exhibition, and all three were taken last week during the draft in Detroit.

The most significant thing for Milroe is proving he can consistently read through his progressions and make quick decisions with the football. Coach DeBoer and his staff worked with him in spring practice and saw how he has improved.

If he can the next step in being explosive and efficient, Milroe will be elite for Alabama in the fall.
