The 2014 Allstate Sugar Bowl will be between the two most storied programs in football. Oklahoma and Alabama will face off in a BCS Matchup that seemed unlikely in early November, with Oklahoma dropping two games and Alabama staying on a roll. Then came late November, when these two teams faced off their in-state rivals on the road. Auburn beat Alabama 34-28 off of a 108 yard returned field goal, and Oklahoma used some speacial teams sooner magic to beat Oklahoma State, 33-24. They are now #3 and #11 in the country, and both teams will face eachother down in New Orleans January 2nd. The Sooners will be looking to keep their late season rally alive, and Alabama is looking at their first 2 loss season since 2010 with a loss in the Sugar Bowl. You can also make a case for these two teams to be the most dominant in the BCS Era. With Alabama being able to win National Championships (3 Titles) and Oklahoma being able to get to the championship (4 title apperances). Let's take a closer look at these two storied programs and their recent and past history. TEAMOKLAHOMA SOONERSALABAMA CRIMSON TIDENational Championships711Heismans5110-Win seasons3333Conference Titles43  27BCS Bowl wins (apperances) 3(9)3(6) 10 win seasons and National Championships usually determine how successful your program is, and Oklahoma and Alabama are tied for #1 in 10 win seasons and Oklahoma is #3 in National Championships while Alabama is #1. Also no bowl game has ever contained two teams with more combined bowl victories than this one. The Crimson Tide have 35 bowl wins, while the Sooners have 27. The two head coaches might as well be #1 and #2 in the country as well, with Bob Stoops and Nick Saban at helms of their respective programs. The history between this two teams makes it a must watch by itself. Let's take a look the 2014 Sugar Bowl preview here on Football Nation :
