Twitter/@BigTimeHank Last year, there was no pressure on the Ohio State football program to perform, as there was no hope (due to sanctions) of reaching a bowl game. This year, things are drastically different.  With the Buckeyes going 12-0 in 2012, expectations are once again high in Columbus. Fans are excited. Players are pumped. Heck, even former players are making guarantees that the Bucks will reach the BCS Championship Game. Wait, what? That’s right. Former defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins, who was drafted in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft by the New York Giants, made the bold proclamation to Fox Sports Ohio earlier this week. “I guarantee we see Ohio State in the national championship game this year. We were supposed to be there last year but that’s over. This time around, they’ll get it done. I see a star in Braxton Miller and a bunch of really good guys on defense, starting with the secondary. They’ll be well prepared and ready.” Strong words, especially considering we’re still over a month away from the season even starting. It’s great to see Hankins believing in his former teammates, but you have to wonder how all of this pressure is going to weigh on the young Buckeyes. We’ll find out soon enough.
