I said earlier in the week that I haven’t been this excited about a Louisville football game in a long time. Therefor, at this exact moment, I am extremely excited and slightly intoxicated. Charlie Strong got a win in Morgantown on his first try. Strong is also 1-1 all time against ranked opponents. The Cards gave up more points today than they have all season, but West Virginia is easily the best offensive team the Cards will face. The biggest surprise to me is the season high 38 points put up by the Cards. This offense still struggles at times, but it looks like they are improving week after week. Teddy Bridgewater has been as good as advertised over the past couple of weeks. This kid doesn’t look like a freshman at all. Teddy was 21/27 for 246 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. The interception wasn’t his fault by the way. Seeing Charlie Strong as hyped up as he was today just makes Louisville fans happy. His emotion on the sidelines has to get you fired up. As crazy as ...

Video: Charlie Strong Celebrates Win By Crowd Surfing in the Locker Room

Louisville got their biggest win in quite sometime on Saturday, and head coach Charlie Strong was excited. Actually, “excited” doesn’t quite encompass Strong’s response when he greeted his team in the locker room. Lucky for us, however, we have video. We’ve seen a handful of moments that make us realize just hot much we love [...]

Strong's Cardinals make statement vs. WVU

Louisville recorded a statement win Saturday in Morgantown over No. 24 West Virginia. Charlie Strong's Cards responded well to adversity on the road, beating West Virginia for the first since 2006 to stay in the Big East championship hunt.

Charlie Strong goes crowd surfing after West Virginia win

Charlie Strong is excited — really excited. And who can blame him? Louisville's 38-35 upset over West Virginia Saturday was the biggest win in Strong's short career and gave the Cardinals a three-game winning streak, one win short of bowl eligibility before. This after no one expected anything from Louisville this season. So after Saturday's game — before the team...

Happy days here again for Louisville football

Click here to view the video on YouTube. Games in Morgantown aren’t for the weak of heart.West Virginia football tradition goes way back, as does the rabid fan support. One has to have respect for the program and be wary of the locals. If you second guess yourself, show fear, or allow yourself to be intimidated, they’ll run roughshod over you, laughing at you, mocking your...

Louisville shocks No. 24 West Virginia (AP)

Teddy Bridgewater threw for one touchdown, Andrew Johnson returned a blocked field goal for another score and Louisville shocked No. 24 West Virginia 38-35 Saturday. Cards #10 In ESPN Preseason Power Rankings

Louisville comes in at #10 in the ESPN Preseason Power Rankings. The Cards are currently ranked #9 in the AP poll and #8 in the coaches poll.       10. Louisville: Rick Pitino did a masterful job coaching a young Louisville team to 25 wins and a third-place finish in the Big East last season. New, improved Jared Swopshire maybe

Exhibition games don’t count for much, if anything. But if Jared Swopshire’s performance in the University of Louisville’s 72-62 win over Bellarmine is any indication, he may finally be ready to contribute.During his first two seasons, Swopshire often appeared to be taking a casual approach to the game, holding back, rarely displaying any emotion. Tall and lanky, a good physique...
