Crystal Ball Run:
With a few days left until bowl games kick off, it is a relatively slow week in the world of college football. Well, except in College Station, TX, where Kevin Sumlin just put a new toy under the Christmas tree for Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Johnny Manziel.
That toy is Ricky Seals-Jones, the top high school wide receiver in the country who on Monday, announced via Twitter that he was taking his talents to College Station to play for Texas A&M.
The news was hardly surprising, although it was significant.
For Seals-Jones, the 6’5, 230 lb. monster receiver from Sealy, TX had long ago narrowed his college choice down to A&M and LSU, after electing to decommit from the Texas Longhorns in the spring. And given that Seals-Jones took three separate trips to College Station this season, it seemed like more a matter of “if” and not “when” he’d elect to give a verbal commitment to the Aggies.
Still, the news is significant none the less.
Even before Seals-Jones commitment Monday, and heck, even before the 2012 season even played out, Sumlin announced his arrival during the summer recruiting period, when he put together one of the most impressive early hauls of anyone in college football. Since August, virtually every service on the internet had Texas A&M with one of the Top 10 recruiting classes in the country.
Still, Seals-Jones commitment speaks volumes about who A&M is now, versus where they were back in August.
For the players who committed over the summer, they were choosing the Aggies based on a vision; a vision on what Sumlin might be able to do with time at Texas A&M. Take a great coach, a unique offense and all the high school talent in Texas, bring it to college football’s best conference, and maybe, just maybe in time they could compete with anyone in college football.
Only after four months, that time is now and nothing signifies that better than Seals-Jones’ commitment.
Who’s to say what Seals-Jones might’ve elected to do if A&M went, say 6-6 this year, but the simple truth is that we’ll never know that. Instead the Aggies took the college football world by storm, and won 10 games in 2012, including an upset of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. That vision that Sumlin was selling just six months ago, has now come to fruition. As I wrote six weeks ago, Texas A&M is an emerging college football super-power.
Add in the fact that Seals-Jones will now get to play with a Heisman Trophy winning quarterback for (very likely) the next three years of his college career and it’s clear why this choice was so easy for him.
Either way, it’s a huge day for A&M and a potential game-changer for college football.

Johnny Manziel mania has officially gotten out of hand. The local Hungry Howie's in College Station is offering "The Johnny Pizza" - a pizza with a Heisman Trophy pose made out of pepperoni. It gets a A for artistic achievement, but a C- in customer satisfaction. Face it, who wants a pepperoni pizza with the pepperoni not evenly distributed on the pizza? Thought so. (via SB*Nation)
Johnny Manziel has done it again. A few days removed from receiving the most coveted trophy in college football, Johnny has landed the second most coveted prize……a hot model. Apparently Johnny Football is dating Texas A&M undergrad and model Sarah Savage. So what’s next for this kid? Pretty sure it doesn’t matter now. Check out Sarah [...]
Texas A&M freshman Johnny Manziel is the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner. He’s the first freshman to win the award. His numbers were better than Cam Newton’s when Newton won the award, whose numbers were better than Tim Tebow’s when he won. It really shouldn’t have been as close as it was. While Manziel won by a decent margin, he was easily the best player in the country and...

No one knows exactly what winning the Heisman Trophy requires. We do have an idea of what you can't do.
You can't play just defense. Unless you're Archie Griffin, you can't win it twice. You can't be an offensive lineman.
You couldn't win it as a freshman until Saturday night, when Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel snagged the award in a decisive...
Is there no end in sight? Is there anybody who is not cashing in on Johnny Football mania (besides Johnny Manziel himself, of course)?
Now there's a pizza. A restaurant called Hungry Howie's in College Station, Texas, has crafted a pizza with pepperonis arranged into the silhouette of a football player in a Heisman-like pose. It's called "The Johnny Pizza."...
Johnny Manziel was understandably wide-eyed, but he certainly didn't look, or sound, like a freshman as he hugged his parents, said a few calming words to his tearful dad, John Paul, and coolly strolled to the stage to accept the Heisman Trophy on Saturday.
He also didn't appear flustered or sound like he was new to addressing a crowd when he offered a polished and selfless...
NEW YORK (AP) -- Johnny Football just got himself a way cooler nickname: Johnny Heisman.

He’s Johnny Heisman now. There is a lot to like about Johnny Manziel, and our universe has been infatuated with everything he’s done in his breakthrough season. His first name rhymes with iconic actor Denzel Washington, he was a backup quarterback and YouTube sensation at one point.
It finally was a moment when Manziel arrived at Texas A&M, where he made a statement and cemented...
NEW YORK (AP) -- Heisman Trophy history suggests it will never get better for Johnny Manziel than it did this season. In the 78-year history of the Heisman, only one player has one more than one: Ohio State's Archie Griffin in 1974 and 75.
But even if another Heisman is not in Johnny Football's his future, there's still plenty left for Johnny Football and Texas A&...
