Dez Bryant Rips ESPN Host on NBA Controversy

Former Dallas Cowboys star Dez Bryant is joining the chorus of those on social media who are criticizing ESPN NBA host Malika Andrews for seemingly allowing her sociopolitical views get in the way of her doing her job ethically.

"I advise you not to make this a black or white thing," Bryant wrote to Andrews on social media regarding what appears to be her double-standard when it comes to athletes in trouble. "Your parents really raised you wrong and just because you went to a private school don’t make you better."

What's the issue here? Andrews, despite her role as an anchorwoman, was nevertheless highly critical of Alabama star Brandon Miller on the night of the NBA Draft. Miller, who is Black, was the owner of a gun allegedly used by one of his teammates in a fatal shooting in Tuscaloosa.

But while Andrews dug into that story with her opinions, she is being accused of (as of this writing) not doing the same thing with the controversial situation involving Oklahoma City Thunder player Josh Giddey, the Australian standout who is the subject of an NBA looking into allegations of Giddey having a relationship with a minor.

"Why haven’t you said nothing about Josh Giddey?'' Bryant asked Andrews on Twitter.

Some, including ESPN superstar Stephen A. Smith, came to Andrews' defense for her questioning of Miller on NBA Draft night.

"She getting crucified leading into the Draft because she's asking Brandon Miller a question or bringing up somebody's past," Smith said on a Paul George podcast. "She had an obligation to ask those questions. She did her job. If she doesn't do her job, she's off the air.''

Bryant and others might simply counter with the opinion that Andrews should also "do her job'' on other sensitive subjects that may differently fit into her world view.
