PLAYERS: Dillon BaxterLane Kiffin
TEAMS:
A few months ago Dillon Baxter transferred out of USC because of academic and personal issues that had put him squarely in coach Lane Kiffin’s doghouse. Now the once-heralded recruit is enrolled at San Diego State and, once again, is said to be having issues on his new campus. The Los Angeles Daily News reported on Monday that the running back was already having “punctuality issues” at SDSU, and now this report claims Baxter is taking care of personal and academic problems and will miss spring practice. Aztecs’ head coach Rocky Long refused to comment specifically on the story but did confirm that Baxter was working on “a variety of” issues that have come up since his transfer in January. Long issued the following vague quote about Baxter: “He’s still associated with the team. But I don’t expect him back until maybe fall camp. Gators-Vols on the wrong end of history

Blame Realignment. Or Derek Dooley. Or maybe Will Muschamp. Phil Fulmer? Actually, maybe it’s Lane Kiffin. Yeah, let’s just blame him. Whoever’s to blame, history will likely be made in next year’s Tennessee-Florida game, and unfortunately it’s not the good kind. That’s because for the first time since CBS picked up SEC broadcasting rights back in 1996, it appears...
