Michigan Football will host Akron on Saturday at the Big House. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:01pm and the game will be televised on the Big Ten Network. The Wolverines will look to extend that streak to 17 against the Zips. This will be the first ever meeting between Michigan and Akron. When defensive coordinator Greg Mattison was asked what he thought about Gallon, he replied “He’s Michigan.” Gallon now has recorded a reception in 28 straight games, which is the 5th longest streak in school history. Jeremy Gallon ranks 18th in school history with 1,562 career receiving yards. Devin Gardner was named the Davey O’Brien Quarterback of the Week after accounting for five touchdowns and 376 yards vs the Irish. Blake Countess recorded the first two interceptions of his career last week and is third on the team with 10 tackles. Gardner is Michigan’s leading rusher with 134 yards. Fitz Toussaint is second on the team with 128 rushing yards. Michigan ranks 10th nationally and second in the Big Ten in scoring offense, averaging 50 points per game. Through two games, Michigan’s offense has scored 100 points, churned out 923 yards of offense and picked up 47 first downs. This is pretty cool, QB Alex Swieca enters Michigan Stadium as seen through the view go Google Glass Raymon Taylor leads the Wolverines with 15 tackles. Taylor recorded a career-high 11 tackles against Notre Dame, including 9 solo stops. Although he didn’t post huge numbers, Fitz Toussaint came up big for Michigan against Notre Dame last week.
