According to Rivals.com, the Louisville football program will receive a visit from five star defensive end Chad Thomas this weekend.
Thomas is currently committed to Miami, but is still taking visits. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound prospect is considered to be one of the best defensive ends in the country.
Charlie Strong and his staff have been pursuing Thomas for quite some time, but backed off a little bit after he committed to Miami in June.
His commitment to the Canes seems firm, but hopefully this weekend’s visit will change that.
Thomas also has scholarship offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee and West Virginia, among others.

Believe it or not, of the over 100 players on the Louisville football roster, only two were five star recruits coming out of high school.
Michael Dyer is one of them; of course he wasn’t actually brought into the collegiate ranks by Louisville. The Arkansas native started his career at Auburn before transferring here over the summer.

When you’re playing behind one of the best quarterbacks in the country, it’s hard to really get much of an opportunity to shine. Fortunately for Louisville back-up quarterback Will Gardner, due to Louisville’s overwhelming leads, he’s played in three of the four games so far this season.

We all know the UPS party deck, right? The large platform at the top of the south end zone specifically designed for fans to congregate, mingle, and come together during UofL football games. But as Gardner’s proven early in the season, he’s ready if called upon. Cardinal Authority has a feature on the Cardinals’ backup quarterback.

Let’s face it, bye-weeks really suck. You wait all summer for football season to get started and then after a four week tease, you’re left with two weeks between games. While Charlie Strong and the Louisville Cardinals won’t be taking the field, there is one team that you should be rooting for on Saturday; the Central Florida Knights.
Heading into the season...
