Ricky Tarrant was a lightly recruited guard out of the Birmingham suburb of Pleasant Grove. He signed with Tulane, and then surprised everyone by having a 1st Team All Conference season. Near the end of that year, Tulane lost their star in Kendall Timmons, and Tarrant had to take over the team down the stretch. He played well, but looked tired. By year's end he had played over...

If it turns out that these are their new helmets, Tulane did a fantastic job. They all look outstanding and...
The Tulane Green Wave may be testing out a number of different helmet designs as it prepares to make the jump to the American Athletic Conference.
Tulane may be getting some new uniforms…or at least some new helmets. It would be a nice change from the terrible Green Wave helmets they currently wear and would also be more appealing to the new “uniform generation”. Tulane recruit Jordy Joseph tweeted out the following picture with a quote: “check the swag for next year”. Tulane is leaving Conference USA and joining...

The Green Wave Signing Class So Far…
The Tulane Football Coaching staff has received 12 NLIs so far today. Overall another strong looking class from Coach Curtis Johnson and his staff. QB Nick Montana, LS Michael Lizanich, and DT Chris Davenport have already joined the team for the semester after transferring or graduating high school early. The class so far is as follows:
Tulane says it has received a national letter of intent from junior college quarterback Nick Montana, the son of Hall-of-Fame NFL quarterback Joe Montana.
The younger Montana threw for 2,652 yards and 22 touchdowns this past season at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif.
Tulane says the 6-foot-3, 215-pound Montana, who has two years of eligibility remaining, is enrolling...

In September I said my piece on the transfer issue in college basketball. In light of today’s news that the NCAA is revisiting the nuts and bolts of transfer regulations, every blog and sports page on the internet is going to have something to say about it. And Run the Floor is no different. Only I said everything that I needed to say in September, so just read that.
The Big East became a little more festive by announcing that the Tulane Green Wave will be joining the conference as an all-sports member starting in the 2013-14 season. The move came as an attempt to bolster the quickly thinning ranks of the Big East with Rutgers departing for the greener pastures of the Big Ten and Louisville, Cincinnati, and UConn all vying for spots in the ACC...
Tulane is joining the Big East as a full member in 2014.
"I would go as far to say as this is a historic day for Tulane University ... the Big East is coming to the Big Easy," school President Scott Cowen said.
East Carolina will also join the rebuilding Big East for football only in 2014, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press.
The person spoke on...
ESPN’s Joe Schad is reporting that Tulane will leave Conference USA and join the Big East in all sports. I haven’t been able to find out exactly when Tulane will be a full member of the league, but I assume it will be next season.
Tulane may give the Big East a TV market in New Orleans, but the Green Wave certainly won’t make the league any stronger in football. Tulane hasn’t...
Tulane says its new campus football facility will be known as Yulman Stadium.
Richard Yulman is the owner of the mattress manufacturing company Serta International and a member of the Tulane board. He and his wife, Janet, donated $15 million toward construction of the $55 million stadium. The 25,000-seat facility is scheduled to open in 2014.
The stadium will also carry the name...

Tulane has established secure footing in the LaPlace/Reserve area of Louisiana. The Green Wave signed two prospects from that area of the River Parishes this year, and head coach Curtis Johnson and his staff have two pledges from there in the '13 class. Today, Tulane got a verbal from St. Charles Catholic LB Luke Jackson, who helped the Comets to a 15-0 season and the 3A state title in 2011.
