Kyle Van Noy has become a star for the Brigham Young Cougars the last two years. He has built a legacy that will last for a very long time. However, he is not the first Van Noy to wear BYU blue.It was 65 years ago, the 1948 BYU roster listed a 6-foot, 190 pound End wearing number 51 from Thayne, Wyoming by the name of Dean Van Noy.An All-State standout at Star Valley High School, Dean was described in the 1948 BYU media guide as: "Good on both offensive and defensive. Rated one of the better freshman prospects."  Unfortunately, Dean didn't contribute that year. He didn't letter. It was his only season on the football team.Dean moved on with his life and was married a short time later (July 26, 1950) to Mary Louise Colson. They settled in Idaho and acquired several farms and ranches. Dean also had a 32 year career with the Idaho Department of Transportation.When he passed away on March 1, 2008, in St. George, Utah, Dean and Mary had eight children, 21 grandchildren,...
