The Florida Gators 2014 recruiting class took a slight hit this week when four-star offensive lineman and ESPN 300 member Ben Knox (Deland, Fla./Deland) decided to decommit. It’s not unusual for players to change their minds, and seeing as how the Gators have not even been in contact with Knox for the past month, his decision was not all that surprising. The 6-foot-6, 259-pound offensive tackle now has the Louisville Cardinals as his top choice. Losing Knox, at least for now, is only a slight blow for the Gators. Florida still has three offensive line commits for 2014 in Travaris Dorsey (Jacksonville, Fla./Raines), Nolan Kelleher (Mount Pleasant, S.C./Wando) and Dontae Angus (Philadelphia/Martin Luther King). Although, the loss of Knox does leave Florida relatively thin at the tackle position. Dorsey, Kelleher and Angus all play the interior offensive line, so look for Florida to potentially target offensive tackles in the coming months. With the loss of Knox, Florida still has 14 commits for 2014, including nine in the ESPN 300. The Gators still have the No. 8 ranked class in the country.
