Florida Gators quarterback Jeff Driskel sprained his ankle in Saturday’s game against Louisiana-Lafayette and now it’s possible that he’ll be out for the next two weeks. Gator head coach Will Muschamp said he thinks Driskel will be available, but “who knows”. “We’re just working through this week,” Gators coach Will Muschamp said on the weekly SEC coaches’ teleconference. “Whenever you deal with an ankle it’s a day-to-day process. It’s a situation that continues to improve. How much it’ll improve into next week, I have no idea at this time. “We feel like he’ll be available, but who knows?” Driskel has been a solid quarterback for the Gators completing almost 65% of his passes for a total of 1,324 yards and 10 touchdowns with only 3 interceptions. Driskel is also the Gator’s leading rusher this season with 424 yards and 4 touchdowns on 97 carries. Losing Driskel won’t hurt the Gators this Saturday against Jacksonville State, but their final game is against Florida State on the road and although Jacoby Brissett isn’t a terrible backup option, he hasn’t been the starter during this good season the Gators have been having. “Got a lot of confidence in Jacoby,” Muschamp said. “It’s his opportunity and I’m looking forward to seeing him play.” Brissett is 9 of 13 this season for 1 touchdown and has only seen action in 3 games this season. This will be his second start this season. This is a tough loss for the Gators. Florida Gators 27 – Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns 20; No, THAT Was The Defining ‘Just Win’ Game

For a good, solid 10 minutes I laughed. I probably sounded crazy, sitting by myself in my office at home watching the Florida Gators defeat the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns 27-20 on my laptop. The medicine to combat the flu would be what many would have blamed for my maniacal cackle, but it wasn’t the culprit. The Gators had just won in a way only the Gators of 2012 possibly...

The Florida defense has taken the next step this season because of NFL talent in the junior and senior classes. The seniors like Jon Bostic, Josh Evans, Omar Hunter and Lerentee McCray will try to make it at the next level, but there could be some juniors from the Florida defense that join them. The Florida coaches won’t address it until after the season, but there is plenty of junior talent.

Jacksonville St.-Florida Preview

Jacoby Brissett took the first snap of Florida's season, then headed to the bench. He's pretty much been there ever since. But with Jeff Driskel doubtful for Saturday's game against FCS opponent Jacksonville State, Brissett likely will get another chance under center for the seventh-ranked Gators (9-1). "There's no question, I think it's a great example...
