JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida will be without starting right tackle Matt Patchan against Ohio State in the Gator Bowl. Coach Will Muschamp says Patchan injured his upper back during practice and has been ruled out for Monday's game. Xavier Nixon, who has struggled all season and was eventually benched, likely will move back into the starting lineup against the Buckeyes. The Gators also could be without guard Dan Wenger, who has missed practice with an ankle injury. Muschamp says he is questionable. Patchan's injury is his latest in a long list. The junior from Tampa has missed time because of a gunshot wound, a torn pectoral muscle, a knee injury that resulted from an on-campus scooter accident and a broken right wrist. Patchan has started seven games, all this season.

"We Need to Make a Statement"

Florida Buck Ronald Powell says the team is coming together. As they prepare to face Ohio State in the Gator Bowl, the Gators know they need to come out on top and avoid a losing season. Powell talks about the state of the team, how he's developed as a player, and how important this win really is for Florida.

Can the Florida Gators win another Title?

On Thursday the Gators lost on the road, in double overtime, to Rutgers. So it might be an odd time to consider if they are legitimate national championship contenders, but it's easier to learn about a team when they struggle than when everything is going right. This team isn't as talented as the back-to-back Champions from 2006 and 2007, but what team is? Billy Donovan...

Optimism Surrounds Future of the UF Defense

Florida defensive coordinator Dan Quinn isn't happy with the way his defense played at times this season but a quick look at the depth chart has him expecting improvement next season. The Gators filtered in multiple returning players on defense this season while Jaye Howard and William Green are the only contributing players that won't be with the team next year.

Florida ends year with pledge from 2013 point guard Kasey Hill

Florida currently has perhaps the most talented group of backcourt players in the country. But upon closer examination, Erving Walker is a senior, Michael Rosario and Kenny Boynton are juniors, and freshman Brad Beal is playing like a potential NBA draft early entrant. GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Coming off the first Southeastern Conference championship in school history, the Florida Gators entered the 1992 season ranked No. 4 in the country. Considering the losses from the previous roster -- especially on both lines of scrimmage -- that projection was considerably optimistic (if not unrealistic).
