Former Alabama quarterback reveals must-win game for the Tide
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Former Alabama quarterback and ESPN’s Greg McElroy feels Alabama should have one game circled as a must-win this upcoming season.

McElroy, who played for Alabama from 2007 to 2010, feels the Crimson Tide must avenge its loss to LSU last season when the Tigers travel to Tuscaloosa.

“LSU is going to be really, really good,” McElroy said. “Alabama has been the standard in the SEC West for the better part of the last 15 years. With Nick Saban approaching what might be the finish line. Some people have assumed maybe five years, ten years, however long Nick Saban goes, there was a clear pecking order. One is Alabama, two is LSU in any given year. Maybe some years people thought A&M was that. Maybe some people thought Ole Miss was that…But if LSU were to get a victory in Bryant-Denny Stadium and win two in a row against Nick Saban, would that indicate a bit of a shift in the way teams are perceived in the SEC West?”

McElroy discussed in more detail why he felt this way below on Always College Football.
