It has been a crazy football season for the Oregon State Beavers. Mike Riley's team has experienced dizzying ups and downs and twists and turns, most recently, a dreadful loss against Washington that wrecked their undefeated season. That loss is, however, the only loss, stunningly, of the current campaign. The Beavers are the 11th ranked team in the land, fighting for a berth in the Bowl Championship Series and a program defining year. One hiccup from the Beavers, that fitful night in Seattle, hasn't sunk the BCS ship. Two losses and the Beavers have a chance to stay afloat. Three losses is checkmate on BCS dreams. It's that simple. Not making a BCS game would be short of a catastrophe, but a definite shame in this rebound season. The chance to make the Rose Bowl, or a Fiesta Bowl, it doesn't come around often. Pac 12 leaders reside in the state of Oregon

Something is going on in the state of Oregon. Both Chip Kelly’s Oregon Ducks and Mike Riley’s Oregon State Beavers are ranked in the top 10 in the BCS, with Oregon being undefeated and Oregon State’s only loss coming to Washington in a close 20 – 17 game on the road. Maybe it’s something in the water. Last Saturday both Oregon and Oregon State put up good offensive numbers...

Beavers-Cardinal relying on newer QBs

Generally speaking, a reliable presence under center is one of the most vital components of an offense in college football -- and it's rare that a team succeeds without one. But in the case of Stanford and Oregon State, quarterback play has been each team's biggest question mark as they try to keep pace with Oregon in the Pac-12 North Division race. In fact, when the No...
