I went like 9-6-1 last week. Things will get brighter since I cut the large amounts of early games. I'm also gonna choose 12 games instead of 10. Let's get to it! MARYLAND +14.5 at FLORIDA STATEThe Terps! They're currently undefeated. Who'd they play? Nobody, really. Do they have a chance of coming out of Tallahasee with a win? No. Jameis Winston is this year's phenom and until he stumbles, you gotta ride with them.Winston has yet to even kinda-sorta stumble. Kid is crazy good. ILLINOIS +10 at NEBRASKAHow does a rested Illinois team perform in their first road game? Getting torched by Washington aside, the Illini has shown talent. Senior QB Nathan Scheelhaase leads a potent offense which puts up over 470 yards and 40 points a game (Scheelhaase: 300 yards, 3 scores per). Illinois hung around with UDub and beat three-quarters worth of Leqeaux-led Cincinnati. Can they win in Lincoln?I don't think much of the Cornhuskers. Taylor Martinez is garbage; Tommy Armstrong getting the start under center gives this team it's best chance to win. Can the freshman do it? I'll take the points. BALL STATE +3.5 at VIRGINIAVirginia can't score and they're playing a team who puts up 40 a game. Take the points. TEXAS TECH -17.5 at KANSASKliff Kingsbury can turn my little sister into a good QB. The Red Raiders passing attack is 3rd in the nation..and it's being led by a duo of freshman play-callers. Kingsbury will have an NFL headset sooner than later. Plus, Texas Tech is beating teams by an average of 25 points a game. And Kansas sucks. GEORGIA TECH +4.5 at MIAMINobody has been able to hang with Miami. Georgia Tech will be the team that does? The Yellow Jackets have been slow-starting and turnover-prone. Not enough to compete with the Hurricanes.Props to Al Golden. GEORGIA -11 at TENNESSEELSU -9.5 at MISSISSIPPI STATENot much to say. Two quality teams against inferior competition. Easy picks. WASHINGTON STATE +0 at CALIFORNIAThe least amount of points Cal let up this year: 30. That games was against FCS Portland State and doubles as their only win. The Golden Bears may be the worst team in the Pac-12.With no favorite, pick the better team. Wazzu hung around at Auburn to start the season, beat USC on the road, and then took care of business against inferior opponents. We won't talk about the Stanford game because Stanford is really good. UCF -10.5 at MEMPHISUCF came close to the upset of South Carolina last week. They beat the Nittany Lions on the road the week before. Blake Bortles is the best QB in the AAC not named Teddy Bridgewater. All of this should make Louisville fans happy. After destroying Memphis, UCF goes into Louisville two weeks later. This adds some much needed talent to the Cardinals weak schedule. FRESNO STATE -26 at IDAHOYou all know how bad Idaho is, right? (Carr 4 Prez.) ARKANSAS +11 at FLORIDAKENTUCKY +21 at SOUTH CAROLINATyler Murphy, man. The Gators actually have an offense with him at the helm. Sprinkle in a top-10 D and it'll be a long day for Pig Sooey. The opposite is true for the Gamecocks. With Connor Shaw (sorta) healthy, this offense will click. Plus, they're playing Kentucky. ARIZONA STATE -5.5 at NOTRE DAMEI hate riding with the Irish on bets. If you read my last article I kinda detailed why. This week though, you have to take these points. Arizona State just doesn't look good on the road. I'm not speaking in terms of this year, I mean every year. You know that whole 'pulling a Clemson' thing? Well the Sun Devils do the same. Time for a statement win on the road? Time to pull a Sun Devil. Winning isn't out of the question, but a six point win is. Look for a sloppy game in South Bend. WASHINGTON +7 at STANFORDI acutally called the Huskies upset last year. You ever have those games where the feeling of an uset just flows through your veins? No? Well, I did that week. With a heavily depleted o-line, Keith Price made magic happen. He literally had 1.5 seconds per snap to get rid of the ball. I felt bad for him. But he made it work and upset Stanford at home. But it wasn't all him.Desmond Trufant, UDub cornerback, was the difference maker. The Cardinal (such a stupid name) couldn't get much going on the ground; they went to the air more than normal. On a couple of occasions, Trufant broke up big third-downs and deep balls. That game was his statement and a big reason why he's getting paid right now. This year, the game is in California and long gone is Trufant.
