In-state rivals Utah and BYU get set to face off this week in a game that will decide, at least for the time being, the third worst (or best, depending on how nice you want to be) team in the state.
AccuScore simulated the matchup 10,000 times – Utah State is a solid 72.7 percent favorite to win. The average score in the simulations is 32-21, with the Aggies covering the -6.5 point spread in nearly 60 percent of the simulations.
What stands out most when looking at the simulation data is BYU’s probability of committing multiple turnovers. Utah State is projected to get at least 1 more sack than BYU, and has almost twice the chance of forcing an INT or fumble. The Cougars have to limit their turnovers this week. Keep in mind, even though BYU had a easy win versus Middle Tennessee, the Cougars did fumble the ball four times and threw an INT. Any extra opportunities they give to Aggies QB Chuckie Keeton will result in points on the board.
Big Game Potential: Aggie QB Chuckie Keeton has thrown more TDs (17) and three less INTs (1) so far this year than Johnny Manziel (14 TDs, 4 INTs). Do not give Keeton time in the pocket.
Passing: Taysom Hill (BYU) 233.9 yds | Chuckie Keeton (Utah St.) 191.6 yds
Rushing: Jamaal Williams (BYU) 74.6 yds | Joey DeMartino (Utah St.) 71.8 yds | Joe Hill (Utah St.) 67.8 yds
Receiving: Cody Hoffman (BYU) 74.0 yds | Travis Van Leeuwen (Utah St.) 35.3 yds

Chuckie Keeton from Houston, Texas is the best quarterback you’ve never heard of. Keeton is a 20-year-old junior who plays for the Utah State Aggies. Chuckie’s dual threat ability makes him one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the nation.
The third year starter played his high school career at Cypress Creek High School in Houston, Texas. Keeton was only a 2 star prospect coming...
The Cougars have another short week this week as they get ready to face the Aggies of Utah State this Friday. The Cougar defense will face one of its toughest challenges when it takes on Chuckie Keeton, one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation.
Utah State went on the road over the weekend to San Jose State for their second Mountain West encounter of the year. We saw the Chuckie Keeton we know and love again, after a rough outing against a very good USC defense. Keeton threw for 260 yards and 3 touchdowns, along with rushing for 52 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Keeton now has 17 touchdowns to 1 interception with 1362...
With both teams coming off relatively easy wins BYU and USU will face off this Friday night at Romney Stadium in Logan. BYU’s last trip to Romney Stadium was an important night for the Aggies as they recorded their first win in 10 games versus the Cougars with recruit Chuckie Keeton on the sidelines. The past two games have each been decided by 3 points with BYU...
The Brigham Young Cougars will face instate foe Utah State this week. Like Utah two weeks ago, the instate aspect lends for multitudes of storylines beyond the gridiron. BLUE COUGAR FOOTBALL has five on field storylines to follow Friday night. 1. Taysom Hill vs. Chuckie Keeton, Part 2. Despite it being just his second career start (and sixth career game), Taysom Hill outplayed...
Earlier this year I wrote about the Aggies. I wasn’t very bullish on them at the time (which is ironic since their mascot is a bull, but I digress.) I predicted they might be lucky to get to eight wins; certainly not more. Losses against Utah, USC, BYU, Boise St. were all but a given. The Aggies have played five games this season and boast a 3-2 record. Those two losses...
The bottom end of the schedule is shaping up to be nasty.
