At this time a year ago, the Florida coaches knew they had a special talent in Tim Tebow, but they were not certain what role the true freshman quarterback would play during the season. No one was predicting he would have the impact that he did.
"We didn't know what we had in Tebow," UF coach Urban Meyer said Monday. "But then we saw him (in the first two games) and then we put him in that Tennessee game (to help keep the winning drive alive in the fourth quarter with a critical fourth-down run)."
From that point on, the Gators went with a two-quarterback system that played a pivotal role in UF winning the SEC title and the national championship.
