Tyler Graunke waited in the wings throughout Colt Brennan's three record-setting years at Hawaii. After Brennan's departure, Graunke taking over the starting role was a no-brainer. According to KHON and The Honolulu Advertiser, "no-brainer" is exactly why Graunke won't be the Warriors QB this season. The fifth-year senior has reportedly been held out of fall camp because he's academically ineligible, making his status for the season-opener at Florida in doubt. Graunke dealt with academic issues earlier this year but worked things out in time to hit the field for spring practice. Is Graunke ready for the spotlight? He played well in relief of Brennan but two off-the-field issues for the new face of the program isn't a good forecast considering the Warriors were already set for a season on uncertainty after losing Brennan, coach June Jones and their top four receivers. With Graunke out with what new coach Greg McMackin is calling "personal issues," Inoke Funaki, who has thrown just 27 career passes, is the front-runner.
