Coaching in the SEC means taking home some of the biggest paychecks in college football - and managing some of the greatest expectations in the sport. The Southeastern Conference will play for its seventh consecutive national title this year. As the championship total has increased, so has the pressure to win. Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky and Tennessee fired their coaches this year. No other league has dismissed more than two coaches thus far. Volunteers athletic director Dave Hart says, ''This league, it's a different world.'' Kentucky has filled its vacancy, going with Florida State defensive coordinator Mark Stoops. He replaced Joker Phillips, who went 13-24 in three years. Arkansas, Auburn and Tennessee are still searching.

The coaching carousel finally has a permanent hire on board as it's being reported that Mark Stoops will become Kentucky's head coach, replacing the fired Joker Phillips. Jalen Battle committed to Kentucky last summer but has maintained he wants to take a few visits. The firing of Head Coach Joker Phillips has added more question marks to the 2013 safety’s recruitment, but he has remained committed to the Wildcats. Kentucky has hired FSU Defensive Coordinator Mark Stoops as its new head coach and Battle thinks it’s a great hire.
