For any kid who grew up a sports fan, obtaining your favorite player’s autograph was always a lifetime dream.* For little Ray, who is a Stanford Cardinal fan by blood, his hero is Cardinal QB Kevin Hogan. This idolization was cemented after Hogan led Stanford to a triumphant victory over Wisconsin in the 2013 Rose Bowl. Ray was filled with so much admiration that he wanted to obtain his favorite quarterback’s autograph. After saving weeks of lunch money and scrounging up enough change from behind the couch, little Ray purchased two footballs to be autographed by Hogan. Ray spoke to his father about how best to get his footballs signed. Together they decided that rather than sending the footballs to the Stanford athletic department, it would be best to send the footballs to his home in McLean, Virginia. After a few days, Ray was caught by surprise when he found a package at his front door from Hogan. As he eagerly opened the box he saw his two football that read “Kevin Hogan #8....
