Ryan Taggart threw two touchdown passes to lead Holy Cross over Dartmouth 25-17 on Saturday. Taggart ran for 176 yards and passed for 260 as the Crusaders (3-3) beat the Big Green for the seventh time in the past eight meetings. The win gives Holy Cross a 36-35-4 advantage in the series. Gerald Mistretta was Taggart's favorite target, with a career-high 12 catches for 103 yards. Holy Cross never trailed as Mistretta caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Taggart with 9:56 to play in the first quarter for a 7-0 lead. The Crusaders racked up 522 yards total offense while holding Dartmouth to 224 yards. Nick Schwieger rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries for the Big Green (1-4), who have lost four in a row after beating Colgate in the season opener. Three of their four losses have been by eight points or less.
