Saturday Night Slant:
Tell me if you’ve heard this about an LSU-Ole Miss game. Ole Miss comes out fired up, starts throwing punches, and LSU never really kicks it into gear but does enough to get the job done. When LSU came out the second half and got the quick turnover, but still had to settle for a field goal, you knew the game would end up your standard way-too-close LSU-Ole Miss tilt. You also knew that LSU was better than Ole Miss and the only possible outcome was a win for the Tigers.
It would figure just days after my first SNS article lauding Mettenberger’s recent turnaround that he’d cash in a so-so performance. First time since the South Carolina game Mettenberger throws an interception. Not only that, one of his two interceptions was in the red zone, loosing some of those early-season demons again. That one in particular reminded LSU fans of why the calls get so conservative inside the 20. Outside of those interceptions, Mettenberger was fairly efficient notching 282 yards (that’s thr...
BEST OF MAXIM
LES IS MORE
Give him all of the awards. All of them. That’s what I said to my wife after watching his little chat (therapy, really) with the media following the team’s win against Ole Miss. I will say no more. Just enjoy, reflect, and enjoy Les Miles as… Les Miles.
Les Miles is certifiably insane. He may be a proud coach who stands up for his players, but he obviously has a screw or two loose. LSU came away with a dramatic victory over Ole Miss on Saturday during which they erased a 35-28 deficit in the fourth quarter. The Tigers never led in the second half before freshman running back Jeremy Hill ran for a touchdown with 15 seconds remaining...
Someone in the LSU athletic department has a cross to bare with ten LSU football players.
There was a note left outside of the LSU athletic department offices that read:
“Attention NFL Scouts:
‘The Following athletes miss workouts and always have an excuse. These men lack the self discipline and the motivation to take care of their responsibilities. I will not answer questions...
Check out the video. LSU head football coach Les Miles was very emotional after his Tigers overcame a seven-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat the Ole Miss Rebels, 41-35. At one point, he dropped an F-bomb. At another point, he said his players deserved a big kiss.
Someone on the Tigers football team has really upset this Administrator and they hold nothing back when they put these guys on blast. Spencer Ware is a key part of their running attack, and Sam Montgomery is arguably their second best defensive player (currently ranked #18 on the ESPN Scouts Inc Draft Big Board). This is not going to help any of their draft stock to say the least...
LSU squeaked out a 41-35 win over Ole Miss today, scoring with just under a minute to play to pull it out. This, of course, led to a Les Miles post-game press conference that is equal parts passion, savagery, euphoria, elation, humor and pride, peppered with an F-bomb and some weird bowling imitation. It was a veritable cornucopia of emotions from the LSU coach.
In other words...
The LSU Tigers rallied from behind to notch a thrilling 41-35 victory over the visiting Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday. Needless to say, LSU head coach Les Miles was very emotional afterward.Watch as Miles pays tribute to his seniors on Senior Day by dropping an expletive followed by a relatively homophobic remark followed by a depiction of how the back-and-forth game went. Good stuff.
LSU barely survived Ole Miss at home on Saturday, but the occasion was still meaningful enough for Tigers head coach Les Miles to unleash one of the most epic press conference soundbytes of the year. It's not really fair to call this a "rant", rather... *scratches head*... I actually have no idea what to call this soundbyte because it's so unlike anything else...
Les Miles says LSU is mindful of the lessons to be learned from its tense comeback victory over Mississippi in the so-called Magnolia Bowl.
Even so, Miles says he's pleased with the unshakable resolve the No. 8 Tigers demonstrated in the 41-35 win that kept alive slim hopes for Southeastern Conference and national titles.
Even if LSU (9-2, 5-2) does not get the help it needs...
Les Miles is an emotional guy. Get him worked up and he may let one slip. The Tigers had just defeated Ole Miss in a game that was a lot closer than everyone thought it would be.
The Tigers won 41 – 35.

Les Miles gave one of the best post-game speeches I have heard in quite a while. Following the Tigers 41-35 victory over Mississippi on Saturday, Les took to the podium to express his love for his players, and a few other things. Enjoy, we did.

Saturday's 41-35 win over Ole Miss was a huge victory for LSU. The Tigers kept their slim SEC title hopes alive but most importantly, remain in the...
They don’t call him the Mad Hatter for nothing. LSU Head Coach Les Miles gave a press conference for the ages here in this little just under 2 minute snippet alone.
It’s very Coachy McCoachington which is unintentionally funny in itself.
But then you have his little dance and swearing to accompany his INTENSITY.
