A down season for the Gators ended with two of the team's best players getting invited to the Senior Bowl. Running back Chris Rainey and defensive tackle Jaye Howard were both selected to participate in the Senior Bowl on January 28 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. This is the third consecutive year that a senior from Florida has participated in the game.
BEST OF MAXIM
Want to see the Big 10′s hope die in a game? Well look no further. Chris Rainey blocked this punt and clinched the game along with another amazing special teams play by Andre Debose. Thank goodness the Gators don’t have a losing season.
LIVING THE DREAM
I don’t know how this was missed yesterday but there was a streaker during the Taxslayer.com Gator Bowl. Television cameras did not pick up the streaker but our friend HanlonRocks took this picture from the stands of Florida vs. Ohio State.
It looks like the guy only got half way there (Thank God). My favorite part of the picture is the Florida football team...
Andre Debose has spent all season giving the Gators a deep threat. In Monday's Gator Bowl, he found a different, but familiar, way to make an impact. Debose secured the Gator Bowl MVP with a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown that came just after an Ohio State touchdown to tie the game. The kickoff return also forced changes to be made to the Florida record books.

In a season full of confusing series on offense, Florida added another one in the Gator Bowl.
The Gators ultimately beat Ohio State 24-17, so this sequence will be forgotten by most people, though QB Jacoby Brissett probably will remember it vividly because coach Will Muschamp...
Robert Clark, a former Gators receiver, intends to sign with Louisville, he told Scout.com’s Louisville site.
Clark left Florida in October, along with fellow Dwyer HS graduate Gerald Christian. Both players have been talking to programs and taking visits recently.
Landing Clark should help Louisville get Christian, a tight end.
Both players were true sophomores last year and will...
Special teams were Urban Meyer's pet project at Florida, his pride and joy.
He coached the units for years, often using them to showcase his most talented players.
So he must have smiled when Andre Debose and Chris Rainey made game-changing plays on special teams in the Gator Bowl - even though they came against his future team.
Debose returned a kickoff 99 yards - the longest...
One final tune-up. One final chance to check the oil, kick the tires, and make sure the tank is full. The Florida Gators host the University of Alabama-Birmingham Blazers on Tuesday night in the last non-conference game before SEC play begins. For Florida, it's one final status check. For UAB, it's a self-evaluation of sorts. The FactsOpponent: UAB BlazersWhen: Tuesday, January...
Guards Erving Walker and Kenny Boynton led the Florida Gators over the University of Alabama-Birmingham Blazers on Tuesday night. Behind a combined 43 points from Walker and Boynton, the Gators moved to 12-3 on the season after the 79-61 victory. Not only did both shoot greater than 0.500 from the field, but they went a combined 13-for-18 from behind the three-point line.In addition...
Erving Walker has been waiting all season for a game like Tuesday. Florida head coach Billy Donovan challenged him in the preseason to lead the SEC in assists, but the focus on that hurt his shot and found him struggling to find a role in the offense. Shots weren't falling, and when he did take them, they weren't good shots. Walker changed that with a team-high 23 points...
This has been a rough season for Erik Murphy, who already missed some time with a knee injury. Today, Murphy left practice early after teammate Patric Young accidentally elbowed him above the right eye.
Murphy needed stitches, but is not expected to miss Saturday’s game at Tennessee (11 a.m., ESPN2), which will be Florida’s SEC opener.
“It was one of those things were they...

As Florida Gator fans sped out of Jacksonville Monday night, proudly waiving their middle fingers and cussing at Buckeyes fans who happened to cross their path, they placed the final touch on a weekend that clearly defined the difference between these two schools. Traditionally, Buckeye Nation turns to their football team as a representation of the greatness which is...
