Iowa may not have Mr America QB Ricky Stanzi anymore, but do have the nation’s first presidential caucuses in a few weeks and they were the subject of some pretty awesome “Rick PArry” ads run by the Colbert Super-PAC. They also have a legitimately impressive RB (Marcus Coker, 115 ypg) and receiver (Marvin McNutt, 106 ypg) so there is some balanced firepower on this squad. Sure, they may have gotten slightly out-gained in the season aggregates, and sure, they
finished in the bottom half of the Big 10′s Where’s Wisconsin division. But, other than Minnesota and Iowa State, this team didn’t have any bad
losses, and they made up for those with some impressive wins like, umm…
On to Oklahoma!
It’s weird for a Texas fan to say this, but OU caught some really bad breaks this season and if life was fair they’d be in a better bowl. Not based on their 9-3 record, but I mean if th...

Iowa loses 31-14 to No. 19 Sooners in Insight Bowl
Standing near the 20-yard line in the closing minutes of the Insight Bowl, Iowa receiver Marvin McNutt Jr. looked to the sky and couldn't believe his eyes.
''First, I looked: What is it that fell from the sky?''' McNutt said.
It was a camera and, luckily, McNutt was able to avoid it.
His team wasn't quite as elusive.
Unable to generate much offense...

Iowa football has had a rough season. A sign from the sky itself confirmed that Friday night during the Insight Bowl. Trailing 24-14 with just over two minutes left, star wideout Marvin McNutt just missed getting taken out by a falling ESPN camera.

For the second straight season the Iowa Hawkeyes enter the Insight Bowl against the No. 14 Oklahoma Sooners as heavy underdogs and will be missing arguably their team's best player with sophomore running back Marcus Coker serving a suspension for violating Iowa's student-athlete code of conduct.

Camera Gone Wild during Insight Bowl
I always enjoy the views form the skycam during the football games; it gets you right there in the middle of the action. But in the Insight Bowl the skycam got a little too personal for Iowa. With less than 2:30 to play in the 4th quarter the skycam came crashing to the ground near the Iowa huddle. Iowa receivers Marvin McNutt and Kevonte Martin-Manley briefly got tangled in the...

Scouting the Insight Bowl: Oklahoma vs Iowa
It could be the final collegiate game for Landry Jones in Tempe Friday night. Jones has a chance to be an early first round pick should he choose to make the jump. Marvin McNutt Jr, the excellent senior receiver from Iowa, will need to have a big day in order to keep the Hawkeyes close to the Sooners. The most interesting one on one match up of the day will feature Iowa's extraordinary...
