Highly rated 4 star WR Jovon Durante out of Miami Florida has given WVU a guarantee that he will follow through on his verbal commitment to the Mountaineers, with one possible catch, bring his brother to Morgantown.
Durante, a class of 2015 recruit, signed with WVU in July of 2013. However, he never truly closed his recruiting which is not uncommon. What is uncommon is the statement Durante recently made regarding his brother, Johnnie Durante, who is a WR at FIU.
Durante implied that he would guarantee a letter of intent to WVU if they allowed his brother to follow him to Morgantown. This statement has led many to believe that if WVU does not allow Johnnie to transfer to WVU that Jovon may end up committing somewhere else. That somewhere looks to be Alabama.
Durante is also planning on to attend camps at Tennessee and Georgia in the coming weeks. With Durante showing that his commitment to WVU may not be 100% solid a number of other schools are trying to take advantage his uncertainty. Clemson, Georgia, Tennesee, and LSU have all offered Durante in the past few months and Alabama has a full on blitz on the highly talented speedster.
Durante is the 13th ranked WR in the 2015 class by 247. Jovon was recruited by JaJuan Seider and Lonnie Galloway. According to the official FIU football page his brother Johnnie did not see any playing time last season as a freshman for the Golden Panthers. Johnnie was rated a 3 star WR by 247 in 2012.
