JT Daniels Reflects on His One Year at West Virginia

JT Daniels didn't live up to expectations in his lone season as the quarterback at West Virginia, plain and simple. But he did help the younger guys in that room who are going to be battling for the starting job this month by giving them tips, showing them how to study, and so on. 

Toward the end of the season, Neal Brown made the call to pull to Daniels from the starting spot giving Greene the final two games of the year to show what he could do. Once Brown made the switch, Daniels knew it wasn't just for the final two games it was an audition for 2023 which led to his transfer to Rice.

In a recent interview with Daniel Allen of the Tulsa World, Daniels had nothing but good things to say about his time at WVU.

“I loved it there in Morgantown, (I’m) not going to lie. My dogs loved my house that I owned there, and they had a lot of backyard to do whatever dogs do. But the people there were freaking awesome. I absolutely loved the college town experience too. I just loved my time at West Virginia.

“The surrounding area treats the program like an NFL team. They literally do. It’s insane. And like I said earlier, you’re really just able to get that college town experience which is really what stuck out to me the most.”
